Schedule:

• Regular Work Hours:
  • Monday to Friday: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• On-Call Schedule:

  • Weeknights: On-call from 2:30 PM to 6:00 AM

  • Weekends: On-call from Friday 2:30 PM to Monday 6:00 AM

• On-Call Rotation:

• • On-call duty is assigned 1 to 2 weeknights per week

  • Every third weekend is assigned for on-call coverage

  • On-call responsibilities are shared among 3 rotating teams

UF Health Leesburg Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate CVOR RN to join our dynamic Cardiovascular Surgical Services team. As a Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care during cardiovascular surgical procedures. This position requires advanced knowledge of cardiovascular surgical techniques, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.

• Assist the cardiovascular surgical team in the operating room before, during, and after surgical procedures.

• Monitor and assess patients intraoperatively to ensure safety and optimal outcomes.

• Function as a circulating and/or scrub nurse during open-heart and vascular surgeries.

• Maintain sterile fields, prepare and handle instruments and equipment, and manage surgical supplies.

• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, perfusionists, and surgical technologists to ensure coordinated patient care.

• Provide immediate post-operative care and ensure safe patient transfer to recovery units.

• Document nursing care accurately in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

• Adhere to infection control and patient safety protocols at all times.

• Participate in continuing education and competency assessments related to cardiovascular surgery.

• Take call on a rotating basis and respond promptly when called in.

• Required Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

• Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

• Licensure: Current RN license in the state of Florida or compact state.

• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required

  • CNOR or specialty CVOR certification – Preferred

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of operating room experience required.

  • Cardiovascular OR experience highly preferred.
