Position Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Leesburg, VA (Hybrid: In-office Tuesday–Thursday)

Assignment Type: Contract-to-Hire

Compensation: $28.00–$31.25 per hour (Conversion: $60,000–$65,000/year)

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing finance team. This role will focus on processing vendor invoices, performing reconciliations, and ensuring accurate financial records. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Excel, has hands‑on AP experience in an ERP system, and is comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving accounting environment.

• Enter and process vendor invoices accurately in the ERP system.
• Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices (3‑way match).
• Verify and obtain approval for non‑PO invoices.
• Assist with weekly payment runs and ensure timely vendor payments.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, communicating with vendors as needed.
• Maintain vendor records and support vendor setup and maintenance.
• Prepare and file AP documentation for month‑end close and audit support.
• Assist with employee expense reports and ensure compliance with T&E policies.
• Support the AP team with reporting, reconciliations, and ad‑hoc tasks.

• Associate’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in Accounts Payable (senior AP experience preferred).
• Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis.
• Understanding of basic journal entries and accounting principles (close to Staff Accountant level).
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to research and resolve discrepancies.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Familiarity with audit documentation and internal controls.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
• Adaptable, sociable, and easygoing personality.
