Dental Assistant
Company: Partnerships for Dentists
Location: The Dental Co of Leesburg, Leesburg, VA
Schedule: Hours Vary | Office Open Monday through Thursday 7am to 7pm
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care & Comfort:
Welcome and prepare patients for treatments or check‑ups, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns. - Assist with Procedures:
Set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed for dental procedures. Assist the dentist through 4‑handed dentistry and ensure the dental room is well‑prepared. - Instrument Sterilization & Safety:
Follow proper sterilization procedures and ensure all instruments meet health regulations. - Lab Tasks & Post‑Operative Care:
Assist with lab tasks and provide post‑operative care instructions. - Record Maintenance:
Keep accurate, up‑to‑date records, assist with charts, documentation, and payment procedures. - Scheduling & Office Support:
Assist in scheduling appointments and maintain smooth office operations; keep the room clean, organized, and stocked. - Regulated Tasks:
Perform non‑surgical tasks such as coronal polishing if certified and assist with other regulated tasks as allowed.
- Experience:
Minimum 2 years in a clinical setting. - Certification:
Dental Assistant Certification (CDA or RDA) required; EFDA or radiology certifications are plus. - Skills & Knowledge:
- In‑depth knowledge of instruments, sterilization, and infection control.
- Familiarity with procedures and treatments.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Proficiency with dental practice software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft) highly preferred.
- Clinical Competence:
Ability to perform regulated non‑surgical tasks and assist with procedures. - Communication & Patient Care:
Excellent interpersonal skills, clear instructions, and comfort assurance. - Organization & Detail:
Strong organizational skills, multi‑tasking, and meticulousness. - Team‑Oriented:
Works effectively in a team while delivering high‑quality care.
- Additional
Certifications:
EFDA, radiology certification, or dental hygiene assistant certification. - Language
Skills:
Bilingual (e.g., Spanish) a plus but not required.
