Pennoni is hiring for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our team on a full-time, direct basis in the Leesburg, VA area. This person will assist on multi-disciplinary designs for site development projects (public & private). The position will support Staff and Project-level Engineers in all aspects of projects—including conceptual/planning, preliminary design, detailed design, construction documentation, permitting documents and engineering reports.

• Perform site design work; site layout, grading, utilities-oriented tasks (e.g., water & sanitary sewer systems), and public street design.
• Perform site evaluations for land development feasibility.
• Assist with stormwater management: design stormwater piping systems, assist with Erosion & Sediment Control, review retention/detention, and implement BMPs when necessary.
• Review local municipal ordinances and county & state regulations.
• Assist the design team in preparation of plans for permitting and construction.
• Assist with the preparation of permit applications.
• Prepare engineering reports to demonstrate compliance with client requirements and/or regulatory requirements.
• Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (e.g., Construction Engineering, Environmental Engineering, etc.). Recent and upcoming graduates are encouraged to apply.

• FE / EIT.
• Experience working on greenfield land development and/or water resource engineering projects.
• Experience with stormwater management design calculations, especially utilizing Hydrology and Hydraulics modeling tools.
• Proficiency with engineering tools (CADD, project management software); exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bluebeam Revu is a plus.
• Proficiency in basic office software applications, especially Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe.
• Excellent organizational, teamwork, self-motivated and multi-tasking skills.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
