Job Description

Dewberry is looking for a Project Manager with Site/Civil Engineering design and management experience to join our site civil planning and design practice in Leesburg, VA. This position has the flexibility to be located in any of our Northern Virginia offices, although Leesburg VA location is preferred. You will be joining an established practice focused on bringing the full capabilities of the Dewberry enterprise to service our wide variety of public and private clients, growing and maintaining relationships with our customers, and supporting our nation’s critical infrastructure needs.

Dewberry’s Leesburg office serves as the hub for our national data center market segment practice. This candidate will have the opportunity to work for hyperscale clients on national projects in the land development industry.

Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership and management of private and municipal civil design task orders as well as stand-alone civil design contracts for major projects.
  • Manages project teams that provide technical guidance and design in all areas of work associated with facilities planning, design, construction, and operation.
  • Grows and maintains positive external and internal relationships through an appropriate and timely mix of communications and personal involvement.
  • Leads development of project work plans, including internal budgets, schedules, work assignments, the process of technical development, and coordination of both in-house and out-of-house disciplines.
  • Assigns duties to team members, manages, and leads team efforts, including subcontractor integration.
  • Ensures that the design review and QC processes are effective.
  • Initiates and reviews invoices and assists in the collection of past due accounts receivable.
  • Monitors and, as authorized, executes contract modifications based on scope changes.
  • Develops, monitors, and maintains project budgets.
  • Documents and ensures compliance with project goals.
  • Required Skills & Experience
  • Leadership and management of civil design task orders and contracts for major projects.
  • Management of project teams providing technical guidance in facilities planning, design, construction, and operation.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships through effective communication.
  • Experience in developing project work plans, budgets, schedules, and technical coordination.
  • Team management, including subcontractor coordination.
  • Effective design review and quality control processes.
  • Financial oversight, including invoicing and accounts receivable collection.
  • Contract modification and scope change management.
  • Project budget development and monitoring.
  • Ensuring project documentation and goal compliance.
  • Ability to become proficient in Dewberry engineering practices, standards, and software programs.
