Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking a dedicated Senior Clinical Pharmacist – Emergency Medicine to join the team. This role will be full-time Monday – Friday, day shift. Rotating holidays. Sign-on Bonus & relocation assistance available.

• Interpret, prepare, and verify medication orders as appropriate.
• Provide clinical consultation and cost-effective alternatives.
• Issue controlled substances in compliance with DEA and VA Board of Pharmacy requirements.
• Participate in medication formulary review and approval process.
• Monitor drug therapies for interactions, allergies, and appropriateness.
• Report adverse drug reactions promptly and accurately.
• Minimize non-formulary procurement and support substitutions.
• Participate in decentralized rounding with clinical teams.
• Respond to emergent bedside alerts and codes (adult and pediatric as designated).
• Precept learners as appropriate.
• May perform additional duties as assigned, including, but not limited to:
  • Spearhead grant work and submissions related to the practice of pharmacy.
  • Lecture and facilitate learning opportunities for pharmacy students, PGY1 and PGY2 residents, and practitioners.
  • Perform duties on local, system, or national committees contributing to professional advancement of pharmacy practice.
  • Serve as a leader or facilitator on a regional or national professional organization.

• Education:
  
  Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm
  
  D) or Bachelor's in Pharmacy.
• Experience:
  
  Five (5) years as a clinical pharmacist.
• Licensure:
  Licensed Pharmacist in the state of VA.
• Certification:
  Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for Critical Care and Emergency Medicine, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire.
