Position OverviewThe Operations Analyst III provides operations research expertise to support cybersecurity‑related modeling, simulation, decision analysis, and mission‑focused assessments for Navy control systems. This role delivers advanced analytical techniques to evaluate system performance, quantify risk, optimize processes, and inform strategic decision‑making for complex technical and operational environments. Remote support is authorized, with potential CONUS/OCONUS travel as required.
Responsibilities- Conduct advanced operations research analyses using mathematical modeling, simulation, statistical techniques, and optimization methods to support cybersecurity missions and engineering decisions.
- Develop, refine, and execute models that evaluate system behavior, mission dependencies, threat vectors, and control system vulnerabilities.
- Perform mission thread analysis, risk assessments, and scenario‑based modeling to identify operational impacts and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Generate analytical products such as decision briefs, performance evaluations, trade‑off studies, and optimization recommendations for senior leadership.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity engineers, system architects, and program stakeholders to integrate analytical findings into technical and operational planning.
- Apply quantitative methods to evaluate the effectiveness of cybersecurity controls, resource allocation, system resiliency, and operational readiness.
- Document research methodologies, assumptions, data sources, and results in clear, defensible technical reports.
- Ensure all analyses align with Navy policies, program objectives, and established quality and security standards.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, physics, or mathematics;
Master's degree in operations research or mathematics preferred. - Ten (10) years of professional experience in operations research, applying advanced quantitative methods to complex technical or operational problems.
- Proficiency in operations research techniques including modeling, simulation, optimization, decision analysis, and statistical methods.
- Experience conducting mission analysis, risk evaluations, system performance assessments, or similar analytical studies.
- Ability to translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations and executive‑level briefings.
- Strong technical writing skills for producing high‑quality reports and analytic documentation.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate effectively with cross‑disciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with DoD or Navy operational environments is preferred.
- Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Work LocationUnited States – Remote. The company prioritizes flexibility; when required the employee may work from a Pantheon Data office location or client site.
CompensationThe salary range for this position is up to $69,821. This figure is not a guarantee; actual salary will be based on experience, geographic location, and contractual terms.
