Operations Manager
Our client, a fast-growing, technology-driven company leading the way in fiber and power infrastructure development is looking for a Senior OSP Construction Manager to lead large-scale fiber optic builds, particularly involving high-count fiber and HDD innerduct installation. This is a field leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes pride in building world-class systems.
Key Responsibilities- Lead on-site execution of complex fiber optic builds involving high-capacity HDD and innerduct bundles.
- Manage subcontractors, internal crews, and equipment from pre-construction to project closeout.
- Ensure a culture of safety and compliance with OSHA, DOT, and internal policies.
- Interpret construction drawings, GIS maps, and HDD bore profiles to guide crews and resolve issues.
- Coordinate closely with permitting bodies, municipalities, utilities, and engineering teams.
- Oversee field documentation including as-builts, redlines, daily production logs, and street sheets.
- Conduct and document QA/QC inspections, walkouts, and punch list resolutions.
- Identify and mitigate field conflicts, delays, or errors to minimize rework and downtime.
- Track and report project milestones and daily progress against timelines and schedules.
- 5+ years of OSP or telecom construction experience.
- 1+ year specifically managing high-count fiber and HDD/innerduct projects.
- Deep familiarity with HDD methods, including bore planning, potholing, and locator coordination.
- Experience managing ROW and easement challenges and the 811 locate process.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi‑crew and multi‑phase projects with tight deadlines.
- OSHA 30 Certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire).
- CDL and/or experience operating heavy equipment preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Excel and project tracking tools a plus.
