Registered Nurse (RN) Observation Unit – Inova Loudoun Hospital

Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Observation team. The position is full-time night shift Monday – Friday (including some weekends) from 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. Eligible nurses will receive a sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance.

The Observation Unit is a 27‑bed unit with rapid patient turnover for cardiac, neurological, medical, and surgical patients. The unit operates like an ER setting, providing critical medical/surgical nursing skills in a fast‑paced environment.

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments and synthesizes data to create individualized plans of care.
• Advocates for patients’ rights and collaborates with interdisciplinary resources to achieve desired outcomes.
• Documents all patient care activities and supports documentation standards.
• Evaluates processes, anticipates variances, and revises plans of care.
• Makes clinical decisions based on experience, patient data, and intuition while promoting team development.

• BSN from an accredited nursing school. If RN holds an ADN, must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• At least 1 year of registered nurse clinical experience in an acute care setting.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or possess privilege to practice under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon start.

• Previous experience in Observation, ED, or cardiac/telemetry strongly preferred.
