Licensed Practical Nurse LPN – Position Summary

Provides licensed nursing services to residents and may supervise other staff positions.

Licensed Practical Nurse LPN – Responsibilities

• Responsible for medication administration for residents in compliance with federal and state regulations
• Responsible for admissions of new residents including admission assessments and documentation
• Responsible for completing service plans
• Responsible for clinical system tracking (wounds or infection control) under direction of the Director
• Provide general consultation regarding health‑related concerns within the community
• Communicate effectively and efficiently—listen, speak, read, write
• Notify physicians and/or family of any change in resident’s health and provide proper documentation
• Respond quickly to all emergencies
• Work as part of a team and handle multiple tasks safely and effectively while maintaining close communication with all departments and staff members
• Provide educational meetings for residents and staff; attend all required training, in‑service and staff meetings
• May provide oversight and direction for care staff
• Understand role in the Safety & Disaster Plan
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and prospective resident information
• Maintain a safe working environment through prevention of accidents, preservation of equipment and safe working practices
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families and coworkers
• Adhere to all policies and procedures of Morningside Elite Management
• Perform other duties as assigned

Licensed Practical Nurse LPN – Requirements

• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state. A bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university, or 1–2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be CPR certified or willing to become certified
