Overview
Planning, organizing, and scheduling crews to complete assigned work orders, including assigning tasks, ensuring high-quality installation, and performing quality inspections. Monitors task completion, compliance, and safety issues.
Responsibilities
- Ensure crew meets daily productivity benchmarks:
- Material Phasing – Organize materials by specific areas/floors and keep track of inventories.
- Tools & Equipment – Identify all tools and equipment required for each crew, assign gang boxes, and keep track of tools via signing sheets (in/out).
- Information Packages – Ensure each crew activity has necessary documentation (contract drawings, shop drawings, panel schedules, cut sheets, etc.).
- Control breaks to minimize loss of productive time (personal breaks, smoking, conversations).
- Submit daily hour/unit reports for each crew member using the standard time sheet format.
- Conduct quality control inspections following the established QC plan and checklists.
- Install work professionally and to high-quality standards.
- Maintain and update as-built drawings weekly, logging changes onto master record contract drawings.
- Inventory all tools & equipment daily; ensure accountability and security. Submit inventory/inspection sheets every Monday.
- Report lost, stolen, or damaged tools.
- Review and store all AHA’s related to the scope of work at each crew's gang box.
- Submit weekly equipment inspection sheets for all assigned equipment.
- Follow procedures for reporting and investigating accidents/incidents, submitting reports within 24 hours.
- Ensure work areas are cleaned and left broom-swept at day’s end.
Quality of work must adhere to:
- Code compliance, contractual obligations, best practices, and corporate quality policies.
- Review and implement the Project Quality Plan; document and communicate deviations for approval.
- Assist in the 3-Phase Quality Control process for each Definable Feature of Work (DFOW).
- Document and return CQC checklists, ensuring timely inspections and adherence to QA/QC schedules.
- Initiate discrepancy notices (EDN, DDN, PDN, FDN, ADN, PITDN, CDN) to document issues during construction.
- Review weekly quality scorecards and address systemic issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Address ongoing quality issues highlighted in daily QC reports.
- Resolve nonconformity tags issued by site QC in a timely manner.
- Participate in QA/QC design reviews to identify constructability issues.
- Contribute to the daily ORM work briefing regarding quality matters.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in the electrical industry with a High School Diploma or GED.
- 4+ years of experience with an associate degree.
Abilities:
- Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, following proper safety procedures.
- Relocate a 12-foot stepladder unaided.
- Work at heights up to 60 feet, climbing and balancing on scaffolds, lifts, and ladders.
- Perform physical activities such as walking, climbing, lifting, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
- Good vision (corrected if necessary), color vision, hearing, and English communication skills.
- Use standard ladders and tools within weight limits safely.
- Recognize problems or potential issues, applying general rules to specific problems.
- Integrate information to form conclusions, recognizing relationships among unrelated events.
- See details clearly at close range and communicate effectively.
