Overview
Heavy Duty Technician - Transdev in Leesburg, VA is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.
Benefits- Competitive compensation package of minimum $28.00 – Maximum $35.00
- An additional $0.25 per hour for each EVT certification you possess or obtain
- Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks
- Sick days: 5 days
- Holidays: 11 days

- Company paid ASE testing, training materials, and tool reimbursement
- Asa Diesel Mechanic with Transdev, you will help maintain and repair fire trucks, ambulances, and other equipment to ensure vehicle readiness and safety. Other major job duties include:
- Assist with preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections
- Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including brakes, suspensions, drive trains, and transmissions
- Ensure work orders are completed accurately
- Assist with mobile emergency services
- Valid driver’s license required;
Willingness to obtain CDL while employed – We train! - At least 1 year of automotive or diesel maintenance and repair experience or technical school education
- Possess a mechanic’s toolset
- Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program. Training, testing, and bonuses are provided
- Virginia State inspection license is highly preferred
- EVT Certification is a plus
- Subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason
- The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions; 100% of the job is performed outside; work alone and in remote locations
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
- Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to file or equipment stored at ground level
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise
