Under the direction of the Health and Safety Manager, this position provides safety support to ensure all job sites operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. The Safety Coordinator assists in managing training programs, safety documentation, incident responses, and employee safety engagement activities. This role serves as a bridge between the Health and Safety Manager, field teams, and office staff, ensuring consistency, communication, and proactive follow‑through across all projects.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain safety documentation, incident reports, and training records.
- Track employee certifications, safety training, and renewal requirements.
- Maintain accurate and organized digital and physical safety files for audits and inspections.
- Assist in preparing safety documentation and reports for internal and external use.
- Support incident investigations, gather statements, and assist in Root Cause Analysis reporting.
- Conduct and attend new hire safety orientations.
- Schedule, track, and support employee safety training sessions and certifications.
- Ensure all field personnel complete required training prior to site mobilization.
- Assist with safety training related to equipment operation, OSHA standards, and company protocols.
- Support development of training materials and coordination with external safety organizations.
- Coordinate Tyfoom updates, weekly toolbox talks, and PPE requests.
- Update job sites and employee profiles within the Tyfoom platform.
- Schedule monthly Safety Committee meetings, distribute reminders, take minutes, and share reports.
- Collaborate with HR, Operations, and site safety representatives to ensure timely completion of incident and warning forms.
- Assist in maintaining safety data sheets, safety policies, manuals, and site‑specific safety plans.
- Support field visits by preparing safety materials and updating inspection checklists.
- Assist with field‑level safety audits and hazard identification.
- Maintain, assign, and inventory safety equipment and PPE.
- Coordinate ordering and replenishment of PPE and safety materials as needed.
- Promote the company’s safety culture through consistent communication and follow‑up.
- Support safety awareness campaigns, events, and recognition programs.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for safety‑related initiatives.
- Compile and distribute weekly safety reports and metrics.
- 3+ years of significant safety experience or administrative coordination role (construction industry preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Insurance, or related field preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with safety training platforms (e.g., Tyfoom) preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and digital recordkeeping systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- OSHA certification, safety‑related coursework, or willingness to pursue training is a plus.
