CTE:
Law Enforcement - Hourly teaching position
Lehi High School is seeking an experienced and passionate Law Enforcement professional to teach and mentor students in our CTE program. This course is a vital pipeline, preparing students with the foundational knowledge and skills for careers in policing and public security.

Responsibilities- Teach one engaging class period per day, sharing real-world experience.
- Prepare students for the responsibilities and duties of law enforcement and security officers.
- Proven professional experience in Law Enforcement, Security, or Public Safety.
- A valid CTE and/or Secondary Teaching License is required.
- Law Enforcement Endorsement is strongly preferred.
- Develops and administers school secondary curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to maximize instructional time.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and modifies instructional methods to fit individual needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
- Instructs students in the principles of responsible citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws and district regulations.
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and stay current in the educational field through seminars, workshops, or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
- Organizes and maintains record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and laws.
- Encourages parental involvement and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- Maintains standards of pupil behavior and creates a functional learning atmosphere.
- Coordinates with other secondary staff, participates in curriculum evaluation and faculty activities.
- Requisition s materials, maintains inventory, and ensures appropriate instructional resources.
- Administers standardized tests in accordance with district programs.
Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and pedagogy and ability to differentiate instruction.
- Knowledge of secondary school curriculum and concepts.
- Knowledge of data systems, data analysis, and action planning.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to use computer networks and software applications as needed.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation for performance and professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
