A Day in the Life of the VP, Finance / CFO

As the VP of Finance or CFO, you’ll oversee financial operations for both investment funds and a family office. You’ll be at the helm of fund administration, reporting, compliance, and investor relations—ensuring financial integrity and supporting sound investment decisions. Your leadership will help streamline processes, optimize efficiency, and provide strategic insights to support the broader goals of the organization.

Responsibilities include:

• Oversee daily administration of investment funds (venture capital, private equity, hedge funds)
• Coordinate capital calls, distributions, fees, and expenses with third-party fund accountants
• Review and analyze financial statements and capital account reports
• Prepare internal dashboards and reports for investment and finance teams
• Maintain investor records and coordinate communication related to contributions and distributions
• Support preparation of investor reports, K-1s, and ad hoc investor requests
• Manage secure investor data rooms and document sharing
• Monitor compliance with fund governing documents and legal requirements
• Support audits, regulatory filings (Form ADV, PF, FATCA/CRS), and fund formation processes
• Collaborate with auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel to streamline operations
• Evaluate and enhance fund administration workflows and SOPs

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred
• 5+ years of Finance experience
• Fund accounting experience, managing, raising, deploying, or overseeing investment funds
• Strong culture fit with a get it done mentality
• Must be able to work onsite in Lehi, UT
• Long term mindset
