Position Summary

Reef is seeking a skilled and business-oriented Data Analyst to bridge the gap between raw data and actionable insights. This role focuses on understanding business needs, defining and modeling data, performing ETL processes to prepare data for analysis, and creating intuitive dashboards and reports that empower employees and stakeholders to make data-driven decisions. Working closely with the Data Engineer, you will ensure data is accessible, accurate, and presented in a way that drives operational efficiency and strategic growth.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills, business acumen, proficiency in data visualization tools, and hands‑on experience with ETL and data modeling.

Key Responsibilities Business Requirements and Data Understanding
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders to gather, clarify, and translate business requirements into data needs and analytical solutions.
  • Analyze business processes to identify key metrics, KPIs, and opportunities for data‑driven improvements.
Data Definition and Modeling
  • Define data elements, create and maintain data dictionaries, glossaries, and metadata to ensure consistent understanding and usage across the organization.
  • Design logical and conceptual data models to support reporting, analytics, and dashboard requirements.
ETL and Data Preparation
  • Perform Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes to clean, transform, and prepare data from various sources (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft 365, Hub Spot, data lakes) for analysis.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, consistency, and accuracy through validation, cleansing, and transformation tasks.
  • Work with the Data Engineer to optimize data flows and resolve data discrepancies.
Dashboard and Report Development
  • Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SharePoint to visualize key business metrics and trends.
  • Create self‑service reporting solutions that enable employees to explore data independently while adhering to governance standards.
  • Develop ad‑hoc reports and automated recurring reports to support operational and executive decision‑making.
Analytics and Insights
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover insights, trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Provide actionable recommendations based on data findings to support business objectives.
  • Monitor dashboard usage and performance, iterating based on user feedback.
Data Governance and Collaboration
  • Support data governance initiatives, including documentation of data lineage, security classifications, and best practices.
  • Partner with the Data Engineer on integration projects and pipeline enhancements to improve data availability for analysis.
  • Train and support end‑users on dashboard tools and data interpretation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar role (experience in data engineering tasks is a plus).
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools, especially Microsoft Power BI (required); experience with Tableau or similar tools is a plus.
  • Hands‑on experience with ETL processes and tools (e.g., Power Query, SQL‑based transformations, or integration platforms).
  • Solid knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating data; experience with Microsoft SQL scripting is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with enterprise applications such as Salesforce, Microsoft 365, Hub Spot, and data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS S3, data lakes like Microsoft Fabric).
  • Experience in data modeling, creating data dictionaries, and defining business metrics.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to both technical and business audiences.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively in a cross‑functional environment.
