As the first company in decades to receive IRS approvals to E‑file 1040, 1041, 1120, 1120S, and 1065 — we’re re‑inventing a complex category. Founded in 2023, Instead combines LLMs with tax law to make tax management a continuous, proactive process rather than a dreaded annual deadline.

About the RoleOur world‑class sales organization at Instead is looking for driven Account Executives for our Direct and channel roles who can build and nurture client relationships while delivering exceptional revenue results as we scale rapidly. Individuals who are strategic, customer‑focused, and passionate about closing a lot of deals will thrive Account Executives own the process of converting new businesses and onboarding them into our products.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Demonstrate Instead and calculate tax savings potential to new inbound leads to convert into customers. Superior education and closing skills needed. We push for a one‑call close.
- Attend inbound meetings directly on your calendar. No cold calling to people who don’t know us, only warm outbound trials and existing customers.
- Partner with implementation and customer success teams to ensure seamless onboarding.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and client relationship data within Salesforce.
- We manage a transactional sales cycle between 1‑7 days. Great sales craft is essential to success in our environment. Most deals close in 1‑2 calls.

- 1+ years of successful B2B sales experience, preferably in SaaS or fintech
- Experience selling to owner‑operator small business owners
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales quotas
- Prior CRM experience (preferably Salesforce)
- Experience at a high‑growth startup
- Strong network of industry contacts
- Bachelor's degree from a four‑year university
