. This position is located in the Fort Myers, FL metropolitan statistical area and involves performing building code inspections and plan reviews for residential and commercial buildings. The inspector will manage specific projects related to code inspections, with some travel within the assigned area. The role is predominantly field‑located but may occasionally include office assignments.
- Conduct building code reviews and/or quality control inspections.
- Prepare written and electronic reports and issue notices of correction.
- Explain and interpret code requirements and quality control regulations.
- Recognize, evaluate, and properly resolve unique problems or situations.
- Maintain effective customer service relationships with clients and the public.
- Assist the inspection management team with business development.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager.
- Required Florida commercial building inspection license (BN#) in Mechanical and Plumbing disciplines.
- Florida Commercial Building Inspector license (BN#) for structural, electrical, or 1–2 family dwelling (residential combo) considered a bonus.
- 3+ years of experience performing plan review and/or inspections.
- High School diploma or equivalent education.
- Valid State driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Use of company vehicle and fuel card for daily travel to work sites.
