Senior Accountant position, taking ownership of a portfolio of SME clients. The role combines client relationship management, technical review, and team supervision.

Description- Manage a portfolio of SME clients, acting as the main point of contact
- Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts, management accounts, and VAT returns
- Review work completed by junior team members to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Provide practical business advice and identify areas for improvement or efficiency
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
- Monitor workflow, deadlines, and service delivery standards
- Support and develop junior staff through mentoring and on-the-job training
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Promote best use of accounting software and digital tools to enhance client service
- ACA/ACCA qualified or ACA/ACCA part-qualified (or equivalent experience)
- Solid background in accountancy practice with experience preparing year-end accounts and VAT
- Confident reviewing work and taking responsibility for client relationships
- Strong communication skills with a professional and proactive approach
- Commercially aware and comfortable advising SME clients
- Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage, Quick Books or similar
- Organised, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple deadlines
