The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a dynamic and supportive team. This is a varied role offering exposure to a wide client base, with responsibility for managing client relationships, reviewing work, and supporting junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory accounts for a range of clients including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
• Oversee preparation and submission of VAT returns in line with HMRC regulations
• Review bookkeeping and management accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Prepare and review corporation tax and personal tax returns
• Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as a key point of contact
• Build strong client relationships and provide proactive business and financial advice
• Supervise, mentor, and support junior staff members
• Assist with workflow management and ensuring assignments are completed within deadlines
• Liaise with HMRC and other external stakeholders where required
• Support partners and senior management with ad hoc projects and advisory work

Requirements

• ACA / ACCA qualified or late-stage studier
• Proven experience within an accountancy practice environment
• Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation, tax, and VAT
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Quick Books, Sage, or similar
