About UsEuropcar Mobility Group is a leading provider of car rental and mobility services, offering a diverse fleet for business and leisure travel and helping to change the way our customers move. We are committed to exceptional customer service and to innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients. We are seeking a Tax Analyst to prepare the returns, reconciliations and evidence behind the tax position, and to provide resilience across tax and reporting.
The RoleAs Tax Analyst you prepare the underlying work behind the tax position of the entities the Accounting, Reporting & Tax pillar serves, working to the Tax Manager. Your time is weighted towards tax, with a proportion given to reporting, so that the two disciplines cover one another and no obligation depends on a single person. You work primarily in the ledger platform, and in the spreadsheet-based analysis and returns that sit outside it.
Key Responsibilities- Return Preparation: Assemble the data behind each direct and indirect return, apply the agreed treatment, and present a submission-ready pack that the Tax Manager can review and file inside statutory deadlines.
- Reconciliation & Evidence: Tie the amounts reported back to the accounting record, retaining the working papers and supporting rationale so a reviewer or auditor can follow what was done without further explanation.
- Tax Accounting Support: Compile the current and deferred figures and disclosures that enter the reported result, flagging movements and unusual items for review.
- Reporting Cover: Take a share of the reporting workload — statutory and group submissions and the external statistical and regulatory returns prepared outside the ledger — so cover exists in both directions.
- Systems & Data: Extract, validate and manipulate the data these obligations depend on from the ledger platform and supporting systems, improving how it is sourced rather than rebuilding it each period.
- Change & Project Support
:
Support the work streams arising from global minimum tax (Pillar Two), transfer pricing and finance system migration, testing that data and treatment carry through correctly. - Compliance: Work in accordance at all times with the Company’s code of conduct and ensure the team also complies with this code and that all relevant training is completed to provide full awareness.
- Any other reasonable request.
- Part-qualified or qualified tax professional or accountant (CTA / ACCA / ACA / CIMA), or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience preparing direct or indirect returns and the reconciliations and working papers that support them.
- Strong Excel and data-handling skills, with the accuracy and audit-trail discipline recurring obligations demand.
- Working knowledge of a general ledger platform; experience of Sage is desirable rather than essential.
- Methodical and well organised, able to hold several statutory deadlines at once.
- Willingness to work across both tax and reporting to provide resilience in the team.
