Salary: £32,070 - £34,359 per annum (pro-rata for part-time)

Working Hours: Full time, 37 hours - Monday - Friday

Contract Type: Permanent

About

The Role

We are looking for a highly organised, confident and experienced Committee Support and Personal Assistant to work with our Director of Adults & Communities department.

This is a varied and rewarding role that puts you right at the centre of the department supporting the Director and Departmental management team deliver services that make a real difference to people’s lives.

You will be expected to provide high quality administrative, secretariat and personal assistant support. You must have the relevant skills and experience to operate at this level.

In addition to this you will have knowledge of the committee support function in local authorities and possess excellent written skills to format and shape the departmental papers for these forums.

You will also line manage the two PAs to our Assistant Directors and Heads of Service.

About You
  • Have substantial experience of providing a personal assistant and secretariat service at an executive level or BTEC National/NVQ level 3/4 or equivalent in Business Admin/Management of Public Admin
  • Be able to prepare Committee/board papers in line with local authority standards
  • Be able to communicate effectively with members of the public, local MP’s, senior managers and councillors
  • Demonstrate an understanding and recognise the importance of data protection and confidentiality, along with knowledge of the political structure and governance of a local authority
  • Have experience of dealing with enquiries and responding to complaints
  • Be experienced in dealing with challenging situations and the importance of data protection and confidentiality when handling and processing all types of information
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach to deal with changing demands
