Overview
Leicester City Council is looking to recruit an organised and proactive Traffic Management Support Officer to provide effective administrative, operational and financial support to the Traffic Management Team and associated transport services. The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth operation of the city's transport network by ensuring traffic and travel information is communicated efficiently to stakeholders and the public.
ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive administrative support: arrange meetings, take accurate minutes, monitor actions, manage records and respond to correspondence. Manage shared inboxes, support managers in implementing new systems and procedures, assist with training administration, risk assessments and business continuity planning, and ensure actions are completed within agreed deadlines. Administer financial duties such as raising invoices, liaising with utility companies, monitoring vehicle licence checks, ordering supplies and handling complex customer enquiries.
Collaborate with traffic engineers and key stakeholders to collate, analyse and distribute traffic and roadworks information. Manage traffic information updates through social media channels, respond to network and control room incidents, liaise with emergency services and media contacts, and report traffic signal faults.
Perform financial administration: process purchase orders and invoices, monitor budgets and cost centres, reconcile supplier statements, investigate discrepancies and maintain accurate financial records using the Council's financial systems.
QualificationsExcellent organisational and communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure while meeting strict deadlines. Experience with administrative and financial processes, strong IT skills including Microsoft Office, financial monitoring systems and the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, partner agencies and stakeholders. Experience producing reports, processing financial documents, spreadsheets and presentations, and maintaining accurate records is essential.
