We have an opportunity within Leicestershire Library Service for a Stock & Systems Assistant to join our Stock & Systems Team. This permanent, part-time role is based at Eastern Annexe at County Hall, Glenfield.
The role requires the provision of efficient and effective clerical and administrative support, and data processing for the day-to-day operations managing the stock, materials and systems within the Library Service; as well as a keen attention to detail to follow business processes meticulously and accurately.
The role also requires manual dexterity for warehouse working, to receive and receipt library book stock and stationery materials, before picking and packing for onward distribution to individual library sites.
About You- Good general education up to GCSE standard/equivalent and knowledge of the book trade.
- Experience of general office procedures such as filing, photocopying, servicing and distribution responsibilities.
- Attention to detail and keen focus to follow business processes, managing calendar spikes and seasonal projects.
- Positive approach, working well under pressure against timescales to deliver high level of customer services – a team player able to adapt to rapidly changing business requirements.
- Importance of confidentiality (GDPR) and responsible for protecting and managing information safely and reporting breaches in line with Council policies.
- Experience of work‑based computer applications, including clerical operations and data processing such as catalogue and database management, creating, importing, and updating records, and preparation of statistical information as required to support the effective management of the service.
- Ability to relate, converse and consult with internal and external customers from a wide range of backgrounds with accurate spoken and written English.
