Payroll Assistant

Role:
Payroll Assistant

Contract Type:
Permanent

Hours Per Week: 37.5 hours, Monday–Friday

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day‑to‑day payroll administration with accuracy and efficiency
  • Support the monthly payroll process for LCFC, LCWFC and LCitC, including starters, leavers, amendments, expenses and matchday staff payments
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, systems and filing
  • Prepare and process Matchday Safety Staff timesheets
  • Liaise with HR to ensure all new starter documentation is correct and complete
  • Assist with payroll checks, reconciliations and BACS submissions
  • Support pension administration, including auto‑enrolment and provider liaison
  • Keep payroll spreadsheets and reports up to date (e.g., mileage, benefits, academy costs)
  • Assist with HMRC submissions, month‑end duties and year‑end processes (P60s, P11

    Ds)
  • Respond to payroll queries from staff, players, advisors and external bodies
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, HMRC deadlines and internal policies
  • Stay informed on payroll legislation and upcoming changes
What You’ll Bring
  • Proven experience in payroll administration and data input
  • A solid understanding of HMRC regulations and gross‑to‑net calculations
  • Strong IT skills, especially Excel, with confidence handling complex spreadsheets
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to support staff at all levels
  • Strong time‑management and the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • A proactive, self‑motivated approach and a commitment to teamwork
  • High levels of integrity, reliability and confidentiality
  • A friendly, organised and positive attitude, even under pressure
