About the RoleThe Service Support Assistant role is part of the wider Business Support Service and the role includes completingtasks on various information and financemanagement systems within the timescales given, improving data quality in key systems by working with a high standard of attention to detailand following agreed procedures.
The current vacancy sits within the Finance area of the Business Support Service.
Included in this role is the expectation torespond to and screen telephone calls,emailsand other enquiriesand providea high levelof customer care.
The successful applicant will also produce letters, reports, emails, minutes, spreadsheets etc. using a variety of software packages to a professional standard,maintainingdiaries, makingappointmentsand arranging meetings as required.
They will also make use of I-procurement to accurately process invoices for payment, keeping records of finances up to date in line with procedures.
Also tomanage and co-ordinate a busyincoming and outgoingworkload, takingappropriate actionto record, track, progress and prioritise work, usingtheirown initiative as required to resolve non-complex queries and problems.
As part of the wider team an important part of all roles within the service is to provide back up to colleagues, across service areas and toassistin handling urgent work on aday to daybasis.
About YouTo apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:
- Recognised Academic Qualifications e.g. 'GCSE', 'A' Levels, Vocational Quals, Professional/Further Education Quals in relevant area. NVQ 2 in Business Administration or equivalent. Or equivalent level of relevant experience.
- Good computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, withtheability to use spreadsheets and perform basic data analysis.
Togiveevidence of establishing and maintaining manual and electronic admin systems. - Good organisational skills with good written and oral communication skills,
- Excellent customer care skills and a full understanding of the need tomaintainconfidentiality.
- Able to produceaccuratework to deadlines and give evidence of numeracy,literacy and statistical analysis skills.
- Able to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Ability to prioritise own workload and work under minimum supervision, with a flexible approach.
