Hours: Part-Time – 22.5 hours per week Working Hours: To be agreed with the successful candidate between 8:00am–12:30pm and 9:00am–1:30pm
Salary: £12.75 per hour
Contract: Temporary – no fixed end date About the Role:
MPA Recruitment is currently seeking to recruit a Band 3 Medical Legal Secretary to join the Emergency Department at Ulster Hospital.
The successful candidate will provide administrative and secretarial support within a busy healthcare environment, with a particular focus on processing medical-legal requests received from Solicitors, PSNI and Litigation teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-focused administrator or secretary who is comfortable handling confidential information and managing a varied workload.
Key Responsibilities:Medical-Legal Administration
- Receive and process medical-legal requests for patient notes and information.
- Deal with requests received from Solicitors, PSNI and Litigation teams.
- Retrieve and order patient notes from storage as required.
- Ensure documentation and requests are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive patient and medical information.
- Open, sort and distribute incoming post.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and deal with enquiries professionally.
- Carry out photocopying and other general administrative duties.
- Maintain accurate filing systems and records.
- Organise and manage paperwork in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Provide general administrative support to the Emergency Department as required.
- Previous experience in an administrative, clerical, secretarial or medical administration role.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Good telephone and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively.
- Good IT and administrative skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience within a healthcare, legal or administrative environment would be advantageous.
- An Access NI Check may be required for this role.
