Procurement Manager Uxbridge / Leicester / Solihull

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Manager to join the team at Galliford Try.

As the Procurement Manager you will ensure the business develops and implements group wide procurement framework trading agreements for our key areas of spend. Working within our Group procurement and supply chain team, you will be engaging with the wider business units and ensuring our strategies, processes and procedures enable us to deliver for our clients, supporting the development of a strong and aligned supply chain to improve our delivery performance and support the businesses future sustainable growth plans.

you will be doing:

You will develop, create, implement, and manage a wide range of material and plant, direct and indirect and other central trading agreements that will help us leverage the size of Galliford Try’s scale in the marketplace. These will be communicated to the buying teams, and wider business, monitored, and supported in their utilisation throughout the business.

To ensure we have trading agreements that add value to our business, ensuring we maximise the value through highly collaborative solutions. Helping us to implement digital self-service solutions which make us more efficient in how we manage our transactions and improve our procurement to pay. Your work will help us to win and deliver multiple fantastic projects across the UK within the building, infrastructure, and environment (water) sectors.

Whilst carrying out your role you will promote the business and overarching company values, developing strong and professional relationships that will enable us to strengthen our relationships with our supply chain and other key stakeholders. You will also build strong and professional working relationships with all key stakeholders across Galliford Try and act as role model ensuring that you uphold our company values.

Responsibilities:
  • Define, develop, create, implement and manage robust Group Trading Agreements in collaboration with the wider business.
  • Develop strong relationships with our internal stakeholders to deliver agreements that enable implementation within our working winning and project delivery.
  • Establish and communicate our approaches in ensuring compliance with GT processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Negotiate agreements that leverage Galliford Try’s scale in the marketplace, allowing a wide range of agreements enabling our business units to efficiently procure from.
  • Manage trading agreements from concept to implementation ensuring we have robust and transparent methods of selection for suppliers, the negotiation of supply contracts and service standards ensuring the business can place fully compliant and timely orders to be places to meet business / project needs and objectives.
  • Ensure visibility of our works across our trading partners to enable us to proactively monitor 3rd party spend.
  • Review categories of spend internally to identify any leakage and manage the spend back to our preferred suppliers.
  • Work closely with key business experts to ensure we continue to drive our approach around key areas such as low carbon construction, quality, health and safety, innovation, design and many more.
  • Liaise & interface with key purchasers and related parties to achieve best practice from the supply chain.
  • Establish and monitor procurement trends across the business.
  • Develop strategies and processes to create an aligned and capable supply chain.
  • Manage the establishment, maintenance, and effective communication of an approved supplier list.
  • Develop relationships with key suppliers to drive efficiency and effectiveness through the supply chain.
  • Ensure proactive support of procurement initiatives including attendance at collaborative workshops and buying forums as required.
  • Ensure all examples of best practice and added value by procurement are captured and communicated regularly.
  • Set up & manage regular meetings with key stakeholders to ensure project procurement needs are consistently met.
