Bookkeeper/ Accounting Clerk
Our client is looking to recruit an accounts assistant to join their family-run manufacturing facility based in Wigston. This is an excellent opportunity to forge a career with an established company, building strong relationships, liaising with the relevant operations, and ensuring the smooth running of the sales department.

- Process purchase invoices, ensuring alignment with goods received and purchase orders
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies in coordination with procurement and warehouse teams
- Dispatch sales orders and create sales invoices
- Book stock in, ensuring accurate recording of raw materials, components, and finished goods
- Assist with stock reconciliations and stock takes
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Post daily banking transactions
- Maintain accurate records in the accounting and stock control
- Handle staff expenses and company credit card reconciliations
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to resolve finance and stock-related queries
- Ensure that the sales ledger debtors are within their credit limits and prompt payments are received
- Support year-end audit processes and provide documentation as required
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role is a must
- Proficient in using SAGE accounting software (or similar)
- Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable processes
- Understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
- Construction materials/construction industry experience is advantageous
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise according to business needs.
