The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to join a growing project consultancy and become part of an established retail team.
The role will involve working with major UK retail clients, delivering a varied portfolio of projects across the Midlands and wider UK.
Projects will range from individual store projects through to multi-site rollout programmes, including new-build developments, refurbishments, extensions and fit-outs.
This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, client-facing environment and wants exposure to recognised retail brands and ongoing programmes of work.
The Role
You will take responsibility for projects from initial brief and feasibility through design, procurement, construction and handover.
Depending on experience, you will either manage projects independently or take the lead across larger projects and programmes, coordinating clients, consultants, contractors and other key stakeholders.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Full lifecycle project management from inception through to completion
- Managing retail fit-out, refurbishment and new-build projects
- Coordinating multidisciplinary design and consultant teams
- Developing and managing project programmes
- Managing scope, programme, budget, quality and project risk
- Procurement and contractor management
- Contract administration and post-contract delivery
- Managing projects within live retail environments
- Building strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Supporting the delivery of multi-site retail programmes
About You
You will ideally have:
- Experience delivering construction or property projects within the retail sector
- Project Management experience gained within a consultancy, client-side or relevant contractor environment
- Experience across both pre- and post-contract stages
- Exposure to retail fit-out, refurbishment, store rollout or new-build projects
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- A relevant construction/property qualification
- MRICS, MCIOB or another professional qualification would be advantageous but is not essential
Experience working with national retailers or delivering programmes across multiple locations would be particularly beneficial.
Why Consider the Opportunity?
The business is an established international project consultancy providing Project Management, Cost Management, Advisory, ESG and Asset Management services.
The retail team works with major brands across projects ranging from individual stores to complex multi-location programmes, providing exposure to both fast-paced fit-out work and larger development projects.
The position offers flexible working, autonomy, strong client exposure and opportunities for continued career development within a growing consultancy.
