Building Inspector

Leicester | Hybrid | Up to £100ph Umbrella We are currently recruiting for an experienced Class 3 Registered Building Inspector to support a local authority's critical building safety and remediation programme focused on Higher-Risk Residential Buildings (HRBs) and unsafe cladding remediation. This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified Building Control professional to play a key role in ensuring resident safety and supporting complex enforcement activity associated with high-risk residential buildings.

Key Responsibilities Undertake inspections of Higher-Risk Residential Buildings (HRBs). Assess external wall systems, cladding remediation proposals and associated building safety risks. Review fire safety risks and wider building safety concerns. Support enforcement investigations, evidence gathering and compliance activities. Provide expert technical advice on complex building safety matters. Assist with decisions relating to interim safety measures. Support escalation of cases to the Building Safety Regulator where required.

Contribute to MHCLG and DELTA reporting requirements. Support resident engagement and stakeholder communications. Work collaboratively with Building Control, Environmental Health, Legal Services, Fire and Rescue Services and other partner agencies. Requirements Current Class 3 Registered Building Inspector (RBI) Registration . Extensive Building Control experience, preferably within local authority environments. Strong knowledge of:
Building Safety Act Building Regulations Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs) External Wall Systems (EWS) Cladding Remediation Programmes Fire Safety Regulations Enforcement and Regulatory Processes Experience inspecting complex and high-rise residential buildings. Ability to provide expert technical advice on building safety and remediation matters. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Full UK Driving Licence. What's on Offer?
