# Office Administrator The first voice most customers hear, and the reason they end up recommending us.## Who you'd beYou are organised in a way that looks effortless from the outside, so you keep a lot of moving parts in your head without making a fuss about it, and you notice when a job has gone quiet before anybody has to ask you.

You actually like people, and not in a customer service voice way. You are the sort who remembers that the lady in Colchester was worried about her cat getting out during the install, and mentions it to the fitters before they turn up.

You are comfortable saying you do not know but you will find out and ring back by four, because that is worth considerably more here than a confident guess.

And you do not let things slide, so if something needs chasing you chase it, and if somebody has dropped a ball you pick it up first and mention it afterwards.## What the job isYou are the thread running through every job, so that means answering the phone, booking surveys and installations, keeping customers updated before they have to chase us, keeping the CRM honest, and making sure the office never becomes the thing holding everyone else up.

You will speak to customers more than anybody else here, and you will be the person the fitters and the sales team ring when they need to know where something is.## What makes it different

Window companies almost never lose a customer over the windows. They lose them because nobody rang back.

So this is not admin sitting quietly in the background. It is the thing that decides whether somebody recommends us to their neighbour or warns them off, and it gets treated that way.

You will not be given a script to read from. You will be trusted to talk to people like a human being and to use your own judgement when something needs sorting, which sounds like a small thing right up until you have worked somewhere that does the opposite.
