Job Overview

DENTAL ASSOCIATE REQUIRED IN WINSCOMBE, SOMERSET.

We are an independent practice in Winscombe with a community sense. In recent years, Winscombe has been named one of the top three places to live and bring up a family in England and Wales, with access to very good schools and high living standards. Located in a well‑affluent area only 25–30 minutes from Bristol or 20 minutes from Weston‑Super‑Mare.

This position is permanent, 2 or 3 days per week (to be discussed), and available to start in January/February 2026.

The practice has been established for over 20 years and has a mature list of patients, including a waiting list for private and payment‑plan patients. We operate five surgeries and are fully computerized, with digital radiography, rotary endodontics, modern dental chairs with LED operating lights, high‑end restorative materials, and a decontamination room.

Our team includes support from a Manager and Deputy Manager, an allocated nurse, health‑booked hygienist/therapists, three receptionists, and a decontamination lead – a great working‑bee team.

In early 2024, we successfully converted from NHS to private/Denplan, now holding a small list of NHS patients. We currently have the contribution of four fully booked dentists.

The right candidate will take over a mature list of predominantly private and Denplan patients, new private patients, and a very small list of NHS patients.

Responsibilities include delivering a small proportion of 500–1,000 UDAs per year (pro‑rated) at £13.00–£14.00 per UDA; equating to about ten UDAs per day, most of which will be children, with the day primarily filled with private/Denplan work. You will also maintain an established list of regular patients and an ever‑increasing number of new private patients.

Benefits include a 50% split on private work and lab fees, a salary of approximately £4,000–£6,000 per month (dependent on performance and working days), and the opportunity for a specialist or special interest development.
