About the Company
An established and leading Fashion Supplier requires a Senior Ladieswear Jersey Designer to join their growing team.
Role SummaryYou will have experience in designing various products including women's Casual, Formal & heavy‑weight jersey and women's nightwear. You will be happy to encompass various duties from design to photoshoots/editing and work within a team environment. You will be required to have similar handwriting to M&S and Next.
The EnvironmentA small, busy, friendly team who work together on various projects, be it seasonal collections, MTO products for certain customers, or new projects. Our environment is very close and friendly, and we want people who like to feel at home when at work.
Key Responsibilities- Design multi‑category jersey womenswear ranges in a team setting.
- Create seasonal ranges in line with brief and budget; evolve rather than revolutionise.
- Work closely with senior management and relevant team members to inspire buyers and build strong, long‑term relationships.
- Collaborate with directors/sales team to understand the budget and strategically design into the customer's price point.
- Produce professional design packs with annotations for garment construction and factory understanding.
- Maintain email correspondence with fabric mills, production agents, factory representatives during sampling stages, recording vital information for the sales team/production manager.
- Understand sales and design for cost‑effective products.
- Communicate with factories to ensure correct understanding of design packs from customer vision to samples.
- Arrange and attend meetings as necessary.
- Participate in design discussions, meetings, and presentations.
- Translate conceptual ideas into commercial designs that can be selected by the customer.
- Mid‑level designer with a minimum of 3 years of similar/relevant experience.
- Share new ideas and developments with the team from competition shops or customers, maintaining core identity while evolving product.
- Manage your workspace: tidy and organised.
- Adhere to all compliance requirements (health & safety, security) and ensure safe use of IT systems and equipment.
- Confident in a fast‑paced design environment working to deadlines.
- Advanced skills in Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Highly organised with problem‑solving skills.
- Attend inspirational shopping trips/factory visits.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
