About The Role
As a Content Designer at TPXimpact, you will work on projects shaping how people find, understand, access and use products and services – making sure content is accessible, easy to understand and in the most appropriate format.
As part of multidisciplinary teams, you will work with other specialists to produce high-quality work that meets the needs of users. Alongside this, you will play an active role in contributing to our Content Design practice.
Responsibilities- Working as the content designer in multidisciplinary teams – designing, prototyping, testing, building, and iterating content for products and services, from high-level flows and journeys to microcopy and long form content
- Creating and editing a wide range of types of content in line with style guides and using plain English
- Working with analytics, data and research insights to support content design decisions
- Working as a consultant with client teams to help them understand content design best practice and a design‑led approach – including upskilling client teams, other content designers and the wider TPXimpact design community through training, pair writing and workshops
- Supporting the development of content design strategy and governance (such as information architecture, processes or ways of working)
- Supporting research, working with other design specialists to test content, information architecture, and prototypes
- Applying a user‑centred approach to designing and managing content requirements as part of agile ways of working and delivery
- Advocating best practices for content design across the organisation and on all client projects
- Contributing actively to our Content Design practice, inspiring engagement and sharing
- Continuously maintaining and updating your skills and knowledge to stay current within your relevant field of expertise
- Individual utilisation - 90%

Essential
- Experience working as a content designer, and delivering high-quality content design work for online and offline journeys, as part of a wider service
- Experience working with hypothesis and user need based approaches when iterating and improving content
- Knowledge and experience of how to design solutions that work for everyone, including usability and accessibility considerations to meet user needs and deliver the best possible user experiences
- Experience of producing content as part of a multidisciplinary agile team
- The ability to operate in a fast‑paced environment, balancing internal business priorities with external delivery and work on client projects
Desirable experience
- Experience of identifying skill gaps in junior designers or members of a client team, and working with them to develop their skills
- Experience of working with teams with low design maturity
Technical skills
- Able to understand and apply content design and UCD principles and work to accessibility guidelines
- Able to design user‑centred, accessible content (including microcopy and long form content) for products and services, working to GDS standards
- Familiar with and able to use common design tools such as Figma, Miro, etc
- Able to facilitate workshops with clients and project team members
- Confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team and assisting with other elements of design and research when required
- Able to understand apply basic content testing methods
