Position: SEND Teaching Assistant (Temporary)

Teacher Active is proud to be working with a number SEND schools in North Leicestershire, supporting with their recruitment for a SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA. The settings are centred on pupil’s development, as well as an intrinsic desire to make progress both academically and with their own emotional, social and behavioural skills.

The schools are seeking a passionate team player to take on this short-term role, although there is potential for this to become a long-term placement for the right SEND Learning Support Assistant / SEND LSA. The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA will bring experience working with children with challenging behaviours and preferably having worked in a personal care setting.

The position will involve working with students across all Key Stages with diagnosis of Autism / ASD, SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties, and challenging behaviours. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary. As well as having a resilient and patient

The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant / SEND LSA will have:

Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities
Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours
Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent
