A teaching assistant is needed for an amazing independent school in North London for secondary students with special educational needs (SEN) aged 11-18.

As a teaching assistant, you will primarily support students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs which may include anxiety, depression etc.

This school is easily accessible from around London.

Being a teaching assistant at this school, you will become a part of a highly supportive team with exceptional senior leadership and fantastic resources.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

Working with and supporting students with SEMH and autistic spectrum disorder (ASD).
Providing academic support, either one-on-one or in a small group.
Promoting a positive and inclusive classroom culture and providing emotional support when needed.
Implementing behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
Using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage focus and self-control.
Assisting with lesson planning and delivery.
Being aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students.

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

The right to work in the UK.
A clear and up-to-date DBS.
Experience working as a teaching assistant.
Experience working with young people and an understanding of SEMH and ASD.
A patient and 'can-do' attitude and the ability to work under pressure.
