Position: Behaviour Support Assistant (Permanent, Contract, Temporary, Part Time)
Location: Whetstone

Behaviour Support / Pastoral Support Assistant – Whetstone (Barnet)

£13.00 – £16.90 per hour | Term-time only
ASAP start | 8:30am – 3:30pm

Are you passionate about supporting young people with behavioural, emotional, or social needs? We are recruiting a Behaviour Support / Pastoral Support Assistant to work in a school environment in Whetstone (Barnet), supporting pupils who need additional guidance to thrive in the classroom.

This role is ideal for candidates with backgrounds in youth work, care, mentoring, behaviour support, or psychology, or anyone looking to build a long-term career in education or pastoral support.

The Role

* Supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social needs

* Working 1:1 or in small groups

* Helping pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies

* Supporting engagement and inclusion within the classroom

* Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and SEN staff

* Acting as a consistent, calm, and positive role model throughout the school day

Ideal for Candidates With Experience As:

* Behaviour Support Assistant

* Pastoral or Learning Mentor

* Youth Worker

* Care Worker / Support Worker

* Mental Health Support Worker

* Psychology, Criminology, or Education Graduate

* Sports Coach or Ex-Military (behaviour-focused roles)

No previous school experience required – training and ongoing support provided.
