Salary: £180 - £250 per day (dependent on experience)

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable ICT / Computing Teacher to join a successful and forward‑thinking secondary school in Leicester. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. The ICT / Computing Teacher will inspire students to develop strong digital, computational and problem‑solving skills, preparing them for further study and future careers in a rapidly evolving digital world.

The postholder will contribute positively to the wider life of the school and support the development of an engaging and ambitious computing curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high‑quality lessons in ICT and Computing in line with the national curriculum.
  • Teach a range of topics including digital literacy, programming, data representation and computer systems.
  • Prepare students effectively for internal assessments and external examinations.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners and promote positive progress and outcomes.
  • Assess, monitor and track student progress and provide timely and constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the development and review of the ICT and Computing curriculum.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and well‑managed classroom environment.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement and engagement.
  • Support enrichment activities and extra‑curricular opportunities related to computing and digital technologies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department and across the wider school.
  • Take part in staff meetings, training and professional development activities.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • A relevant degree in Computing, ICT or a closely related subject.
  • Experience of teaching ICT and/or Computing at secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge across the Computing and ICT curriculum.
  • The ability to deliver engaging and well‑structured lessons that motivate students of all abilities.
  • A commitment to inclusive practice and supporting the progress of all learners.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A positive, flexible and professional approach to teaching and learning.
  • Experience of teaching GCSE and/or A level Computing is desirable.
