Teaching Assistant
We are working with a school in Leicestershire. who are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting students with emotional and behavioural challenges. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact in a specialised educational setting.
Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and delivery of daily lessons alongside the lead teacher, tailored to meet the needs of students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Provide one-on-one support and manage small group interventions to help students achieve their individual learning and behavioural goals.
- Monitor and support the progress and development of students, both academically and emotionally.
- Implement behaviour management strategies effectively, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all students.
- Engage in continuous professional development activities to enhance your skills as a Teaching Assistant and Youth Worker.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant or Youth Worker, particularly in a SEMH setting dealing with challenging behaviours.
- Strong understanding of the strategies needed to support students with emotional and behavioural challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- A proactive and patient approach to educational and behavioural support.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Competitive hourly rate of £14.
