Position: Instrumental/Vocal Tutor (Piano)
Location: Glenfield

Leicestershire Music is looking for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking and inspiring 1:1 Piano Teacher to join our team of specialist music tutors. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate piano teacher who wants to support young musicians through high-quality individual tuition, helping learners build strong foundations, grow in confidence, and develop a lifelong love of music. You will deliver high-quality 1:1 piano tuition to children and young people across Leicestershire, supporting learners from beginner level through to confident developing players.

You will also contribute to the wider musical life of Leicestershire Music through performances, school partnership work and enrichment activities.

Qualifications & experience
  • Qualification or experience demonstrating a high level of musical understanding, awareness and proficiency in your area of specialism (e.g. music technology, instrumental etc);
    Experience of performing, creating or facilitating music at a high-level
  • Inspiring and motivational, with the ability to build confidence and enthusiasm in learners
  • Passionate about ensemble music-making and developing young musicians in group settings
  • Forward-thinking and adaptable, with creative ideas to develop piano learning;
    Committed to inclusive practice and enabling every student to progress
  • Experience of developing and adapting resources to respond to learners' interest and needs and offers a level of challenge and independence appropriate to age, ability, capacity and context
  • Confident delivering 1:1 piano lessons to beginners and developing players;
    Organised, reliable, and an excellent communicator with students, families and colleagues
  • Music theory knowledge and the ability to support learners with theory development;
    The ability to start and lead a piano club on Monday evenings, and the availability to teach Monday evenings would be advantageous.
