Secondary Drama Teacher - Southampton
Prospero Teaching is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Secondary Drama Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in the Southampton area from 13th April, immediately after the Easter break. The school is looking for a qualified Drama specialist who can inspire students, deliver engaging lessons, and take on full teacher responsibilities, including planning, preparation, marking, assessment, and classroom management.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Drama Teacher or a confident ECT to join a supportive performing arts department and help students develop confidence, creativity, performance skills, and teamwork. The successful candidate will be offered the role on a temp-perm basis.
The Role- Teach Drama across KS3 and KS4
- Plan, prepare, and deliver creative and engaging lessons
- Mark work and complete assessments following school policies
- Support students growth in performance, script work, devising, and character development
- Manage behaviour effectively to create a positive learning environment
- Prepare students for class performances and assessments
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Performing Arts department
- Fully qualified teacher with QTS/QTLS
- Specialism in Drama or Performing Arts
- Confident teaching students aged 11-16
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Creative approach to lesson planning and delivery
- Passionate about helping students develop performance skills and confidence

Full teacher duties including planning & marking
- QTS/QTLS required
- Experience teaching Drama at KS3-KS4
- Up-to-date safeguarding training (available if needed)
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
- Able to provide two professional references from recent teaching roles
- Excellent daily pay rates
- Free accredited CPD, such as safeguarding and behaviour management
