Overview
This is a remote role for a Local Lead king in an agreed geographical area the post-holder will work with their local Maths Hubs to improve progression to study maths at Level 3 with a particular focus on working with teachers to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
We are currently looking to grow our team in the following Maths Hub areas:
- West Midlands. SHaW or North Mids Maths Hubs
- South West. GLOW, Mobius, BBO or NEHS Maths Hubs
- South East. Sussex Maths Hub
- Yorkshire:
Yorkshire and Humber Maths Hub
We are open to recruiting full and part time to these roles.
Regions- West Midlands

- Collaborate with local Maths Hubs to support progression to Level 3 maths.
- Engage with teachers to improve mathematics teaching and student outcomes, with a focus on disadvantaged learners.
- Role involves working across designated regional hubs in a regional or national context.
- Experience of working in a regional or national role within maths education
- A passion for mathematics and mathematics teaching
- Qualified Teacher Status
- 3+ years of direct experience of teaching mathematics to students across the 11-19 age range
- Experience of teaching both GCSE and AS/A level Mathematics
- An education expert with deep subject knowledge and experience of implementing pedagogical best practice in subject and phase
- A first degree in mathematics, or a strongly mathematics-based subject
- Experience of supporting the development of mathematics teachers
- Experience of leadership and management in a mathematics education context
- The ability to think creatively and recognise opportunities
- Strong IT skills including the use of technology in teaching mathematics
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Good team-working skills and the willingness to work as part of a team
- The ability to inspire others
- High levels of self-motivation and well-developed time management skills
- An appreciation of MEI's work and philosophy
- The ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people
