Foreign Language Assistant (French) – Part Time

WQE Sixth Form College seeks a part‑time French Language Assistant to deliver conversation classes for students preparing for examinations. The role involves coaching small groups to improve oral and comprehension skills, preparing lesson resources under the guidance of the French teacher and Assistant Curriculum Leader, and motivating students to engage in discussions on a variety of French‑speaking cultures.

• Deliver conversational French lessons to small groups of students.
• Prepare and adapt teaching resources for each lesson.
• Motivate and encourage student participation in discussions.
• Provide feedback on progress and support assessment of oral mock examinations.

• Experience in teaching or supporting learning in a college or school setting.
• Proficiency in French (native level or equivalent).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Permanent part‑time, term‑time position with flexible hours. Salary band: £28,634 – £31,324 per annum (pro rata). Starting hourly rate: £14.84, negotiable based on experience.
