Cello Teacher – Build Something Unique

Salary: £32,070 - £34,359 per annum (pro rata for part-time) (pay award pending)
Working Hours: 1 day per week (7.4 hours), across the academic year (38 weeks per year)
Contract Type: Fixed term for 1 Academic Year

The role:
- Initial contract: 1 day per week (7.4 hours), across the academic year (38 weeks)
- Payment reflects the full working day (not just teaching/contact time), including planning, travel, and development work
- Travel between schools is included within working time, plus 55p per mile travel allowance

As demand grows, there is clear and realistic potential for hours to increase and for you to expand your impact.
An enhanced with barred list DBS check is required for this post.
About You
To apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:
- Qualification or experience demonstrating a high level of musical understanding, awareness and proficiency in your area of specialism (e.g. music technology, instrumental etc);
Experience of performing, creating or facilitating music at a high-level - Inspiring and motivational, with the ability to build confidence and enthusiasm in learners
- Passionate about ensemble music-making and developing young musicians in group settings
- Forward-thinking and adaptable, committed to high-quality, inclusive music education
- Experience of developing and adapting resources to respond to learners’ interest and needs and offers a level of challenge and independence appropriate to age, ability, capacity and context
- Skilled in teaching beginners through to developing players, supporting clear progression;
Organised, reliable, and an excellent communicator with students, families and colleagues
