KS4 SEMH Teacher

About the role:

Justteachers is recruiting for a passionate and resilient KS4 SEMH Teacher to join a specialist provision in Leicester from September 2026. You will be responsible for teaching a small class of secondary-age students (Years 10–11) with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, supported by an experienced team of Teaching Assistants.

This specialist setting supports young people who may also have associated needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or moderate learning challenges. Small class sizes and a highly supportive team allow for a personalised and therapeutic approach, focusing on both academic achievement and personal growth.

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned to the KS4 curriculum and individual EHCP targets.
• Use creative and flexible teaching strategies to re‑engage learners who may have experienced barriers to education.
• Monitor and assess progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and carers.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that promotes resilience, confidence, and independence.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching or supporting young people with SEMH needs, ideally within a specialist or alternative provision.
• Strong behaviour management skills with a calm, consistent, and restorative approach.
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping every student reach their potential.
• Two professional references from an educational setting.
