About the RoleThis role focuses on supporting students’ well‑being, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and ready to succeed. The Pastoral Officer will be the go‑to person for safeguarding, attendance support, and guidance that empowers students to achieve their goals.
Responsibilities- Safeguarding Superhero – Lead on all safeguarding matters, keeping records up to date and staying current with safeguarding legislation. Work with outside agencies to provide students with the help they need when and where they need it.
- Attendance Champion – Encourage students to attend and stay engaged. Track attendance, follow up on absences, and meet with parents or guardians to address attendance concerns.
- Advice & Guidance Guru – Inspire students to aim high and achieve their dreams. Signpost useful resources, career advice, and support services to keep students informed and empowered.
- Progression Pro – Work with staff to ensure every student moves on to something positive – whether further study, training, or a job. Keep in touch with students post‑program to celebrate their continued progress.
- Level 2 in English and Maths
- Solid knowledge of safeguarding legislation
- Experience working with 16-18 year olds
- CEIAG Level 3/4 qualification
- Level 3 safeguarding training
- Experience in the Education/Training sector
- Amazing communication skills – engaging with students, parents, and agencies.
- Brilliant organisation and planning skills.
- Positive, solution‑focused attitude with the ability to think on your feet.
- The ability to handle challenging situations with patience and determination.
- Passion for motivating and inspiring young people.
