Eligibility
We will only accept applicants who are currently training or have completed their EMHP/CWP course. If you are not a trainee or qualified EMHP, please do not apply. Applications are also accepted from candidates currently awaiting registration.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Band 5 Educational Mental Health Practitioner or Children's Wellbeing Practitioner you will deliver evidence-based early interventions using a Low-Intensity CBT approach, supporting children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs in schools and colleges.
Working closely with education staff, you will help develop whole-school approaches to mental health and ensure children can access the right help at the right time.
You will conduct needs assessments, manage risk, maintain high-quality clinical records, and safeguard children and young people while delivering interventions in busy education settings.
You will build positive relationships with school staff, external agencies and families, and travel between education settings across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Qualifications and ExperienceWe welcome applications from qualified and registered EMHPs and qualified and registered CWPs. You must have completed a CYP-IAPT accredited programme and hold valid registration with the appropriate psychological professional body.
We also consider candidates who have successfully completed their EMHP/CWP course and are waiting for registration. Such candidates will be employed on a fixed‑term (3‑month) contract at the trainee Band (Band
4) while they apply for registration.
Other qualifications include experience delivering evidence‑based interventions for children, young people and families, strong communication, resilience, safeguarding commitment, and the confidence to work within busy education settings.
