SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant – Leicester

Smile Education are currently recruiting on behalf of a Leicester pupil referral unit who require additional support in their Primary Phase. The school is keen to meet Teaching Assistants/LSAs to work with a small number of their SEN/SEMH pupils in KS1 on a long-term basis. These positions will start in the new academic year and will run for at least an academic term, possibly longer for the right candidates.

• £80-100 per day

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or a degree in Psychology or Special Educational Needs would be ideal

My client school are keen to meet caring, committed and enthusiastic teaching assistants who are interested in supporting pupils of a primary age with SEND and SEMH needs. This specialist provision is driven by providing an inclusive education to all pupils.

The school would love to meet any Teaching Assistants that have practical and theoretical knowledge of SEND, especially those with an interest in Autism. They are looking for the recruited teaching assistant to work on a full-time basis in order that they establish a good working bond with the pupil(s) they support.

Please note that this is a challenging but rewarding position that requires relevant previous experience and an understanding that some pupils can be challenging at times.
