Teaching Assistant – Full‑Time & Part‑Time Opportunities

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 15:30 (School Hours)

We are currently recruiting teaching assistants to work in primary schools across Leicestershire. We have both full‑time and part‑time opportunities available, offering rewarding roles that fit around school hours.

The Role

As a teaching assistant you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils in their learning, helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment. You will provide support to individuals and small groups, helping children to develop academically, socially and emotionally.

You must be confident and comfortable supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) when required, adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of each child.

Responsibilities
  • Support teaching and learning within the classroom.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and activities.
  • Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) when required.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to support pupil progress.
  • Promote the wellbeing and development of all pupils.
Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience working with primary school‑aged children is essential.
  • Experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar school‑based role is desirable.
  • Comfortable supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) when required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, positive and flexible approach.
  • Ability to work school hours, Monday to Friday, 08:30‑15:30.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable (or willingness to obtain one).
